The principal aim of Quality Assurance is customer satisfaction at every step of life of the fruit.
Traceability

New computer techniques enable accurate traceability from the tree right up until the point of sale. Picking, packing dates can be easily identified as well as operator code numbers.

Highly trained and qualified personnel

ESTAGEL depends greatly on its manual labour force (1600 people at peak season). From the worker up to the management, both work together to obtain top quality. This quality is achieved by mastering techniques, starting from tree plantation up to customer delivery. The loyalty of the seasonal workers, in addition to a selective recruitment policy, are two of ESTAGELS’ priorities.

Quality controls

There are four levels of product quality control, insured by the Quality Department.

1/ Reception area

  • fruit is visually inspected to determine entire batch quality.
  • sample packaging is done.
  • firmness and sugar content are tested.
  • a rot test is used for fruit preservation.

2/ Packaging

Fruit is checked for physical aspect, sizing... according to ESTAGELS’ requirements.

3/ Storage

Daily controls of packed crates in final cool storage.

4/ Dispatching area : according to customers’ specifications.

For all its activities, the company is involved in an efficient quality assurance process.
Estagel is working in a continuous logic of evolution thanks to company audits, and quality indicators.
